Sumit Roy, key aide of TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee, booked in fraud and forgery case

Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s close aide, Sumit Roy, faces fraud and forgery charges in West Bengal. Roy, who is currently absconding, has also been implicated in a separate land-grab case, leading to a lookout notice and searches at Banerjee’s residence. The developments follow the party’s recent electoral setback in the state where it lost power after 15 years.
