Supreme Court to study plea for recall of split verdict on EC appointment law

The Supreme Court has agreed to examine a plea concerning a recent split verdict related to a 2023 election law. This law alters the appointment process for the Chief Election Commissioner and other election commissioners. The split verdict occurred between Justices Dipankar Datta and Satish Chandra Sharma on whether to refer the matter to a larger Constitution bench.
