Tarun Tejpal moves SC against Bombay HC conviction, 10-year jail term

Tarun Tejpal has appealed the Bombay high court’s conviction and ten-year sentence. The high court overturned his earlier acquittal in a 2013 sexual assault case. He was convicted of raping a junior colleague in a Goa hotel elevator. The Goa government also seeks a life sentence, deeming the current punishment lenient. Tejpal previously claimed political targeting in the ongoing legal proceedings.
