Telegram banned in India till June 22, but govt wants one more feature disabled

The government has temporarily blocked Telegram access until June 22 to combat cheating rackets defrauding students ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination. The National Testing Agency also mandated disabling Telegram’s message-editing feature to prevent the creation of fake “paper leak” evidence, aiming to ensure a secure re-test.
