Texas family conserves 470-acre farm after 115 years

Joseph Martinek purchased a Texas farm in 1911, beginning a family legacy that has lasted 115 years. In 2026, his descendants permanently protected 470 acres outside La Grange through a donated conservation easement. The property preserves farmland, wildlife habitat, open space, water resources and archaeological history while allowing the family to retain ownership and continue stewardship.
