Trump administration refunds $100 billion in tariffs struck down by US Supreme Court

In a significant move, the Trump administration has reimbursed nearly one hundred billion dollars in tariffs after the Supreme Court ruled against wide-ranging duties. By July, around sixty percent of these tariffs were refunded to importers. The court’s decision emphasized that the existing law did not provide blanket authority for imposing tariffs. Moving forward, Trump is leveraging alternative legal channels to impose new tariffs.
