US bill seeks $250,000 fines, 10-year bans for serious H-1B violations

A proposed bill aims to raise penalties against employers violating H-1B visa rules significantly. Introduced by Beth Van Duyne, the legislation is under consideration in the House. Proposed fines would increase from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars for serious violations. In addition, the legislation would extend bans on employers from three years to ten years.
