Why Oracle, as Nashville’s orchestra ran out of cash, wrote it a $10m cheque

Oracle has donated $10 million to the Nashville Symphony, saving the jobs of 77 musicians and 27 full-time staffers days before furloughs were due to begin. The gift matches the symphony’s $10 million operating deficit and allows its 2026/27 season to resume through June 2027. Symphony CEO Mark Tillinger called the donation a profound vote of confidence, while Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk said the company is here to help Nashville.
