Yashasvi Solanki becomes first woman officer to serve as President’s ADC

Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki made history in May 2025 by becoming the first woman officer from India’s Army, Navy or Air Force to serve as Aide-de-Camp to the President. A Haryana native and former district-level badminton and volleyball player, Solanki joined the Indian Navy in 2012. Her journey from sports and naval service to Rashtrapati Bhavan highlights discipline, perseverance and the changing role of women in India’s armed forces.
