ASML, Europe’s biggest chip company, is currently selling no chipmaking machines in Europe, says executive Frank Heemskerk, blaming a lack of investment and zero new chip factories. As the US, China and India court ASML, the EU’s Chips Act is falling short of its 2030 goal to double Europe’s global chip market share. CEO Christophe Fouquet and CFO Roger Dassen have also warned Brussels over AI regulation and tech sovereignty.
