Africa’s richest man picks Indian PSU for $450 million refinery contract in Kenya

Aliko Dangote has hired Engineers India Ltd to oversee his $16 billion refinery construction in Kenya. The refinery in Lamu will have a capacity of 700,000 barrels per day when completed. Dangote plans to strengthen regional energy security by reducing reliance on imports through this project. Work is scheduled to begin by the end of September as part of a larger expansion plan.
