Akash Anand’s BSP comeback No. 3: Here’s why Mayawati took him back yet again

BSP chief Mayawati has reinstated her nephew Akash Anand as national coordinator, just days after he apologised and pledged loyalty. It is his third comeback after expulsion. The rift began when Anand didn’t repost her appeal asking his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth to retire from politics. Mayawati warned that party discipline is paramount. With Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections due in early 2027, the move appears aimed at steadying the party and avoiding further organisational turmoil.
