Assam flood toll rises to 97; over 1.68 lakh affected, 481 villages submerged

The flood crisis in Assam has reached alarming levels, with 97 fatalities reported. More than 1.68 lakh individuals are struggling across fifteen districts, particularly in Golaghat, where close to 54,000 inhabitants have been affected. The flooding has submerged 481 villages and severely damaged vital agricultural land. In response to this disaster, Jharkhand has pledged Rs 3 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid recovery.
