Bike mechanic’s faulty repair damaged man’s motorcycle; consumer court awards Rs 66,000

A Kerala consumer commission ordered a mechanic to pay over sixty-six thousand rupees. This decision followed a daily wage labourer’s motorcycle breaking down shortly after repairs. The mechanic had quoted ten thousand rupees but took twelve thousand in advance for the work. The commission found the repair work negligent and a deficiency in service provided. The labourer suffered financial losses and mental agony due to the faulty repairs.
