Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane received a one-month jail sentence for pouring mud on an NHAI engineer in 2019. The court, while acquitting 29 others, found Rane guilty of intentional insult, emphasizing lawmakers shouldn’t take the law into their own hands. His sentence was later suspended for appeal.

UP IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma issued a stern warning against voter intimidation in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. Sharma led operations in Falta constituency following complaints and found irregularities in security deployment at a TMC candidate’s residence. He also warned against threats to voters, vowing strict action.
