Hundreds of dead fish have washed up along the Mississippi River in Missouri and Illinois, but wildlife officials say the die-off may benefit the ecosystem. About 90% of the fish found at one Missouri site were invasive silver and bighead carp. Warm temperatures, low water levels and reduced oxygen appear to have caused the deaths.

Now, his family is seeking $57.5 million for the 951-acre estate, which includes a 13,500-square-foot Greek Revival mansion, 16 barns, 268 stalls, 10 homes and historic landmarks. The property, once home to celebrated racehorses, heads to auction October 28.
