In 2022, former British Army serviceman Ian Ferguson began stockpiling food after the outbreak of the Ukraine war. Now 71, he has accumulated 600 cans of food in his shed, believing they could help him prepare for a 100-day lockdown or national emergency. He has also gathered camping stoves, radios and other survival equipment.
