India had already taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series and were looking for another win. However, a record-breaking batting performance from Glenn Phillips and Michael Bracewell helped New Zealand pull off a massive victory. After winning the toss, India decided to bowl first. But the decision proved costly as the hosts smashed 259/7 in 20 overs, their highest-ever total in T20Is. Chasing the mammoth target, India managed only 172/9 in their 20 overs.
