Full-body scanners at airports: Govt tests tech & algorithms to address privacy concerns before wider rollout

India’s aviation security authority is currently conducting trials of full-body scanners at Bengaluru and Cochin airports to collect critical data. These scanners are being adapted to reflect common Indian customs regarding jewelry and attire. Results from these trials will inform whether they are implemented across eight specified airports. Furthermore, Indian officials are assessing a recent incident involving a Flydubai pilot injury, with potential security advisories to follow internal consultations.
