Hajj pilgrim wins Rs 2.09 lakh compensation after travel firm fails to secure visa

A Srinagar consumer commission has ordered Albalaagh Tours and Travels to pay Rs 2.09 lakh to a pilgrim. The travel firm accepted advance payment for a Hajj package but failed to secure a visa, leading to the pilgrimage’s cancellation. The commission found the company liable for unfair trade practices and deficient service, awarding refund, compensation, and litigation costs.
