A 20-day-old baby girl was allegedly strangled by her grandmother in Tikamgarh. The 60-year-old accused reportedly desired a male grandchild, police stated. She allegedly took the infant outside and committed the act while the mother slept. The grandmother then attempted to conceal the death as natural. Police arrested the accused, who is now in judicial custody.
