Rejected for being a girl, Manasi Mridha became Kolkata’s first Pink Cab driver

Enduring a tumultuous childhood characterized by abandonment and a lack of educational resources, Manasi Mridha rose to formidable challenges. After becoming a mother at a young age and facing widowhood, she pursued multiple job opportunities for survival. With the help of the Azad Foundation’s Women on Wheels initiative, she acquired vital driving skills, eventually becoming Kolkata’s groundbreaking Pink Cab driver, thus paving the way for women in the transport sector.
