Patrick Mahomes signed a two-year, $504.75 million extension with the Kansas City Chiefs on June 12, making it the first contract in NFL history to surpass half a billion dollars. The signing ceremony at Arrowhead Stadium was attended by his family, and a viral video showed his son Bronze excitedly recognising a photo of Taylor Swift before greeting his own father. Mahomes, recovering from a torn ACL and LCL suffered last December, is expected to play in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, September 14.
