Told he had months to live, Seattle shipbuilder survived another 38 years

Robert Moran, Seattle’s former mayor, made a monumental gift of thousands of acres for a state park. Following a serious illness, he relocated to Orcas Island, where he developed picturesque forest lands into a personal estate.
