‘Unusual request’: EC explains why it could not meet Rahul Gandhi-led opposition MPs

The Election Commission of India stated that no political party formally requested a meeting as protests occurred. The Commission emphasized the need for parties to follow prescribed procedures when seeking meetings. After an unusual request from 240 MPs to meet at Parliament House Annexe, the Commission offered an alternative.
