A federal appeals court has determined that the US Constitution does not explicitly provide a right to clean drinking water. Residents of Jackson residents claimed their city was aware of unsafe water conditions but chose to mislead them. Although the court acknowledged the severity of these claims, it denied the establishment of a constitutional right to safe water and pointed to different legal recourses.
