As Uttarakhand looks to expand tourism without compromising the forests and biodiversity that define the state, the focus is shifting from mass tourism to low-impact, community-led ecotourism. The long-term vision is to spread tourism beyond crowded destinations, create livelihoods in remote areas and build a model rooted in conservation, local participation and a smaller carbon footprint.
